Calling Orange County, CA, home…Reel Big Fish has been around in one form or another since 1990.  While members have come and gone, frontman Aaron Barrett has been the mainstay of the group all these years.  Other members Dan Regan on trombone and Scott Klopfenstein on trumpet and guitar have been around since the mid-90’s as well.

Getting to the stage late on Wednesday didn’t hurt their favor with the crowd one bit, Barrett and crew came out with fast-paced energy.

Opening with their cover of A Ha’s 80’s classic “Take on Me”, the audience was instantly jumping and skanking all the way into the mezzanine.  Barrett was the center of attention with his punk-rocker look as he spun all over the front of the stage in between time on the mic.

He came to the center of the stage for each one of his solos and had the crowd throwing their hands in the air and singing along.

While the members haven’t always remained the same, Reel Big Fish serves as an example of how ska music can have its impact on audiences everywhere.  It’s not about standing still, it’s about moving and having a good time.  Led by Barrett, Reel Big Fish made sure its Cleveland faithful had a blast…

Tons of blues and reds, but I think it works well for their set… kind of the ska-type lighting!

SELL the fuck OUT, WITH ME TONIGGGHT!

Yeah…reds and blues are pretty typical of bands like this. Less Than Jake was pretty similar!

    Gotta love that single…so classic!
