Wale back at it with Lady Gaga
Representin’ DC, Wale is making waves in 2009. With the most recent mixtape “Back to the Feature”, Wale is showing that he can rhyme with the best of them.
The single “Chillin” is smooth and legit. Sampling the 1969 classic “Na Na Hey Hey Kid Him Goodbye” by Paul Leka, this hit will be on repeat for weeks to come.

6/14/2009 I first met Andrew Jernigan, aka Phaseone, back at the Red Bull Music Labs a few years ago. Easy to talk to. Easy to get along with. That’s Phaseone. When he gets down to it, this St. Louis producer is all about crafting beats and rhythmns that will take you to another level.

With heavy hip-hop roots, Phaseone has been working on a darker, grimier vibe that many across the web are enjoying. I got to catch up with the man back in St. Louis while shooting Super Jam 2 a few weeks back. His first album, titled Mad Weight, is groovy stuff that is provacative in and of itself.
Now working on a second album, Jernigan has been crafting remixes for the likes of many different indie acts. PS, check out his upcoming remix on Bloc Party’s next release!

Enter Shikari…British post-hardcore at its finest
A few years ago, post-hardcore band Enter Shikari put themselves on the map with the single “Sorry You’re Not a Winner” off their major debut Take to the Skies. Around since 2003, the band just put forth its second major release Common Dreads.
Both albums will hit the listener with a combination of heavy, electronic driven madness…their single of their 2009 ablum “Juggernauts” will certainly get you pumped!
Antipating Armistice…new Mute Math disc dropping any moment…
Electronic, indie rockers Mute Math bring a mix of everything between DJ Shadow to Zero 7 and Coldplay. I’ve been a big fan as they’ve released their hit “Spotlight” as part of the Twilight soundtrack and their recent EP…you know, that movie with the vampires who fall in love or something…I haven’t seen it…but I know teens are all over that flick!
More than anything, their album Armistice should be dropping any time now over the summer!
New TCM single…Drown in the Now
If you’re an electronic music fan, odds are you’re into The Crystal Method. This electronic heavyweight duo is set to drop a new album Divided by Night sometime this Spring. In the meantime, here’s a taste of their single “Drown in the Now” featuring the one and only Matisyahu.
